Purpose

Valliance is building a new generation of AI-native consulting capabilities focused on decision intelligence, semantic data systems, and operational AI.

The Decision Science Partner leads the capability that transforms data and models into real operational decisions and measurable business outcomes.

This is not a traditional data science leadership role. It combines decision architecture, applied modelling, and AI system integration — ensuring analytical work directly drives how organisations plan, price, forecast, and operate.

You will lead complex client engagements, shape Valliance’s decision science practice, and ensure every model deployed translates to provable business value. Operating within Valliance’s 3-in-the-box model, you will partner with AI engineering and consulting leaders to design, deliver, and scale production decision systems.

Core Responsibilities

1. Client Leadership & Value Delivery
   
   

   • Lead high-value engagements focused on decision intelligence and AI-enabled operations.

   • Work directly with senior client stakeholders (C-suite, data leaders, operational heads).

   • Translate complex business problems into decision systems and measurable outcomes.

   • Drive projects where models and rules improve operating decisions - not just generate analytics.

   Typical areas include:

   • Revenue growth and pricing optimisation

   • Demand forecasting and supply chain optimisation

   • Risk and fraud modelling

   • Operational planning and resource allocation

   • AI-enabled decision systems

2. Decision Science Capability Leadership

   You will define, develop, and scale Valliance’s Decision Science capability.

   • Build modelling frameworks, standards, and best practices for scalable use.

   • Create reusable components and decision accelerators across industries.

   • Define how modelling integrates with ontologies, semantic data platforms, and AI agents.

   • Develop Valliance’s intellectual capital in decision intelligence and operational AI.

   
   

3. Decision Systems Architecture

   At Valliance, decision science is not just modelling.

   Partners must design decision systems that combine:

   • Data pipelines

   • Statistical and machine learning models

   • Business rules and constraints

   • Ontologies and semantic layers

   • AI systems and agents

   You will ensure that models are embedded in real workflows and operational systems.
   
   

4. Commercial Growth & Market Development

   As a Partner, you will build Valliance’s visibility and footprint in the market.

   This includes:

   • Drive new client relationships and value-based growth.

   • Expanding existing accounts through measurable value creation.

   • Shape Valliance’s positioning in decision intelligence thought leadership.

   • Lead proposals and contribute to industry engagement

     
     

5. Team Leadership & Capability Development

   • Mentor and grow Valliance’s Decision Scientists and AI engineers.

   • Define hiring standards for modelling and quantitative talent.

   • Establish internal playbooks and delivery frameworks.

   • Contribute to Valliance’s culture of high-agency, high-accountability builders.

Profile

Experience & Skills

We are looking for leaders who combine deep modelling expertise with business impact.

Typical backgrounds include:

• 12+ years in decision science, data science, quantitative modelling, or operations research.

• Proven ability to apply models in live business decision environments.

• Strong fluency in Python, modern ML tools, and decision optimisation frameworks.

• Deep understanding of statistical modelling and machine learning.

• Experience deploying models into production-scale decision systems.

Highly valued experience includes: • Revenue growth and pricing optimisation • Forecasting and supply chain optimisation • Risk and fraud modelling • Decision optimisation and reinforcement learning • Causal inference and experimentation

Experience working with AI systems, agentic architectures, or decision intelligence platforms is a strong advantage.

Consulting experience or senior client leadership experience is highly valued.
